This entry is part 1 of 6 in the series About The Healthy Revolution: Svasth Kranti

Today, there is an urgent need of “svasth kranti” or a healthy revolution in Bharat. As we go further into this subject, let us first have a look at the reason why we need such a revolution.

In contemporary Bharat there are endless lists of problems faced by us Hindus, particularly in connection with the protection of our sacred symbols – the problem of cow slaughter, polluting of our rivers like the Ganga, politically created issues, the anti-Hindu education system, the loss of traditional values, etc. Then, there are general issues like growing corruption, fall of societal culture, etc., which is being heightened by those who do not follow dharma. This paragraph can be elaborated into endless pages of obstacles and struggles we Hindus face in Bharat, since the time of our independence.

After independence there was a need that the four kshetras or regions of jurisdiction, that come under each of the four Shankaracharyas, would have a kshatriya each who is declared as the raja of the region and leads all other kshatriyas under the guidance of the respective Shankaracharya. If this was done, the country would not be in the current condition. Even the four Shankaracharyas would acknowledge their responsibility and would be saved from becoming directionless. Then, Rajatantra would remain protected in Bharat. Make no mistake in understanding this due to the mention of the varna “kshatriya”. The cabinet of ministers would be as per the Mahabharata.

Two kshatryia kings – Mahavira and Buddha got detached untimely and created directionless for Bharat. This weakened kshatra dharma. A kshatriya does not have to let go of arms even in vanaprasthashram. He has the responsibility to protect all from unruly elements even then. In times of trouble all must carry astra-shastra (arms and ammunition) – for this all need sainik prashikshan or martial training. The current system also demands the same. Brahmins must be protected from injury by kshatriyas, in particular. It is their svadharma to protect.

Today, there is no training in kshatra dharma. There is no governance as per vedas and shastras and no kshatriya is aware of kshatra dharma, either. When Bhagavan has given the message that kshatriyas are born to rule, then having faith in shastras they must execute their responsibility.

Today, there is no healthy revolution. In fact, in the name of revolution there is an attempt to destroy and bring our auspicious important symbols to extinction in the name of “development”. The synonym of politics is the epitome of hunger for power. The methods used by our great Rishis and seers, for the purpose of svasth kranti, are being annihilated and destroyed in the name of development.

There are two points to consider, pertaining to the problems faced by Hindus on several open fronts, as Pujyapad Puri Shankaracharyaji explains.

  1. These problems we face today, are only the visible symptoms of the underlying root problem but are not the main problem by themselves. If we wish to treat a disease, then, treating only the symptoms would not help us cure it but only give temporary relief but the symptoms are bound to come up again. We must treat the main disease.
  2. If there are several fans moving at the same time and we try to stop each of them with our hands, we will get injured, and the fans may also break. Instead, we must just turn off the switch that is powering these fans.

The above two examples are to demonstrate that the root cause of the problems we face, is not having a governing system in Bharat that is aligned with values and principles of sanatana dharma, and thus, not in accordance with the vedas and shastras.

All the issues we face are a result of the fact that our current system of governance is not motivated or guided by dharma.

The solution, hence, lies in establishing a system of governance that is in accordance with the vedas and shastras.

A system of governance that is regulated by dharma, free from biases and exploitation, and for the welfare of all, is the sanatana system of governance. – Jagadguru Puri Shankaracharya

To attain the above goal which can be considered synonymous to what we call Hindu Rashtra, Dharma Rajya or Rama Rajya, we need a healthy revolution or svasth kranti.

Now, does a revolution mean that we organize mass protests the government? Does it mean we outrage through various mediums like via articles, social media, etc.? Does it mean we form a militia to unleash violence?

How should we be part of this healthy revolution?

The above questions shall be addressed further on, in this series.
