Tulasi Vanam

This is a very important message shared by Brahmachari Hrishikeshji, for the followers of Govardhan Math.

He explains that we must know and understand the way of working of Pujyapad Puri Shankaracharyaji (Gurudev). We might be supportive well-wishers, and doing our upasana as directed too, but due to a bit if negligence, we may spoil things and the nation will not benefit as it should, from the teachings of Gurudev. We must become aware of His vision.

Responsibility

The responsibility of the one who has discernment or viveka is more than that of those who do not.

Gurudev’s Declaration

When Gurudev was given the seat of the Shankaracharya, He declared that He shall not engage fighting/debating with or oppose any branch of sanatana dharma.

We must be alert to all the strategies and ways that others have. However, we must not work in a way that we fight with one another (the in-fights between Hindus), yet again.

For example 100-150 years were wasted while we clashed with Arya Samaj. Even small groups of sanatanis trying to work, are indulging in such in-fights and ultimately, vanishing.

On Social Media

If we are putting the photograph of Pujyapad Shankaracharyaji in our personal social media page, we are seen by all as the follower of Pujyapad Puri Shankaracharyaji, Govardhan Math.

In such a situation it is our responsibility, that we do not caption the image of Pujyapad Puri Shankaracharyaji in a way that it hurts the sentiments of others. The others could be Arya Samajis, people professing any other kind of belief system, or following any other Guru, Acharya etc. We must understand that others may have a different way or point of view .

Our Attitude

Since we are associated with the lofty seat of The Shankaracharya, our attitude must be, as follows:

We must remember Shankaracharyaji is the Guru of all, and taking care of all belonging to sanatana dharma.

If a child has some shortcoming, then, over time it can be corrected – this is the responsibility of parents. It is not that the child is no longer the child of his parents due to his shortcoming.

We must see all as the children of Shankaracharyaji. We have to help them make such a foundation, that supports them in becoming more agreeable over time. If people have had a fall in their mentality, it does not mean that they cannot rise again. They can definitely rise!

Gurudev observes the smallest aspects of our behaviour. Even if there is a tiny shortcoming, the ones near him, become eager to improve upon themselves. We must have the urge to correct our behaviour, from within.

Our way of communicating

If we speak/write in the wrong way, people view us as their enemy.

Then, if we write such things – in the spirit of opposing others, we are identified as the enemy of others (and naturally so).

Now, the others view us as their enemy. Even if nectar is flowing through the words of Shankaracharyaji, the ones viewing us (followers) as enemy, shall not want to listen to Gurudev.

Hence, even while we are not in a powerful position, our attitude must not spoil all the efforts being done (by Gurudev).

What should we do?

Gurudev explains, that we must connect and engage with other Hindus on those subjects (in terms of areas within sanatana dharma) that they are more focussed on. Every Hindu system will have some focus area – examples, Vedas, dhyan, certain parts of sanatana dharma, etc.

We must engage on what is their area of focus and help nourish that with the teachings of Pujyapad Puri Shankaracharyaji. Discussions maybe done on those subjects in a positive way and slowly may shall gravitate towards the Truth being shared. Not all will have a change in mind, but those who do, may offer great support.

It is the responsibility of us followers to create a favourable environment in order to convey the teachings of Gurudev.

We must try to propagate teachings in a way that is well aligned with the view and way of Pujyapad Puri Shankaracharyaji. This would create a ten fold stronger impact.
