Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Sri Nischalananda Saraswatiji Maharaj, The Shankaracharya of Puri Peeth Govardhan Math has been actively leading a movement towards the formation of a Hindu Rashtra. However, many Hindus are unable to witness the changes that are unfolding as part of this process and are questioning the success of the campaign under Gurudev.

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, 10 July, 2025, Brahmachari Hrishikeshji, disciple of Jagadguru Puri Shankaracharyaji, gave a talk on the matter. In this article, we are highlighting the points made by Brahmachariji with reference to the Hindu Rashtra campaign or svasth kranti.

Bhagavan has described His Divine form in the Bhagavad Gita. However, to see this divine form, Arjun needed divine vision. Bhagavan Jagadguru Shankaracharyaji has executed this campaign of Hindu Rashtra very meticulously, based on the principles of our great scriptures like the Mahabharata, etc. It can be witnessed by His vision, alone (since failing to have such understanding, we may not be able to comprehend what is happening).

Hrishikesh Brahmachariji explains how we are witnessing the successful process of making of Hindu Rashtra with the blessings and resolve of Jagadguru Bhagavan. To understand this we must focus our attention on the following five points.

People who are only witnessing from outside and do not have any hidden or obvious participation in this process will say whatever they wish to. At times, even those who have full faith in this movement start doubting the current position of the Hindu Rashtra campaign.

Brahmachariji shares the following 5 points with us, as shared with him by Jagadguru Puri Shankaracharyaji, Himself.

5 Stages of Hindu Rashtra Campaign

Silent Endorsement
The first stage of success of the propagation of a healthy campaign is seen when there is no objection raised towards it. Silent endorsement of the campaign shows its acceptability, although there may not be active support to it.

An example: Today, people are talking about conversions. There was a report showing that at least in 90 percent of developed countries, ex-Muslims are protected by organizations formed by ex-Muslims and the governments of these countries (some Muslim, Christian and Communist) have started working quietly with such ex-Muslim organizations to combat fanaticism and terrorism.

There has been no opposition to the Hindu Rashtra movement under Gurudev. Hence, we have seen the first stage already. Many have spoken about welfare of Hindus and Hindu Rashtra. However, the one who speaks about this with great firmness and takes the process of making a Hindu Rashtra ahead, alone, gets the credit. At present, it is because of Jagadguru Puri Shankaracharyaji that Hindutva and Hindu Rashtra is being spoken about at an international level.

Slow build-up of Active Support
To elaborate on this point, Brahmachariji shares an example of strong propagation from the time of Emergency (1976) without getting into the politics of it. In those days there were was a restriction on press, and radio etc, all were controlled. However, lakhs of people gathered in Delhi to protest, despite such control on the spread of information. There was no use of any pamphlets, leaflets, advertisement etc. This was managed through word of mouth, alone.

There is no other stronger and accurate way of propagation than that of word of mouth.

Today, the result of our propagation (of Hindu Rashtra) through this method is that all media channels are talking about Hindu Rashtra. This is the form propagation through word of mouth takes. Gurudev does yatra of Bharat for over 260 days in a year. There are over 260 conferences (sangoshthis) and over 120 dharma-sabhas where at least 20 plus questions are answered by Jagadguru in every session, and there is an opportunity for direct dialogue with people. The number that comes if we multiply 20/25/30 interactions with roughly 370, is huge and reflects the number of individuals who have had direct engagement with Jagadguru Puri Shankaracharyaji. Lakhs of people are influenced through personal interactions. This is a very strong way of propagation that even politicians cannot do.

Be it the Sangh, or other organization – they all are slowly gravitating towards and supporting the campaign through small contributions. There is talk about removal of the word “secularism” and “socialism” from the Constitution. If this is done, we are naturally a nation following dharma. The other name of Bharat’s culture is none other but Sanatana Dharma. The Supreme Court said it is not “dharma” but a culture. They may say anything but the truth is that the Bharat’s culture is Sanatana Dharma itself. The source of Bharat’s existence and culture is the vedas and shastras. It is Hindu dharma. When we arrive at the point of removing “secularism”, we automatically support the formation of Hindu Rashtra. More than one lakh three thousand Hindu communities would be formed across the country to support this.

While, the “Mahatmas” or saints who are propagators/supporters of their respective political parties (like BJP, Congress, SP etc), continue to work for their own parties, Puri Shankaracharyaji has indeed created a strong environment for Hindu Rashtra, in these 3.5 years. Now things are visible even in Bharat and abroad in terms of reference to Bharat being a Hindu nation.

Rise of Opposition
As our mission is succeeding, our enemies are getting provoked. This is the third stage of the success of a movement. The rise in attacks on Hindus in various parts of the country is an example of this. We can see agitation rise, drastically. We are crossing this third stage right now. This must be known to all those who are getting agitated and raising questions on the success of this Hindu Rashtra mission.

Suppression of Opposers
The strong suppression of those opposing the Hindu Rashtra campaign is the fourth stage of success. This is bound to happen in coming time.

Establishment of Hindu principles
This would be the fifth and final stage of our movement towards Hindu Rashtra.

In 3.5 years, we have crossed the 3rd stage, and under the auspicious guidance of Gurudev Jagadguru Swami Sri Nischalananda Saraswatiji Maharaj, Bharat shall soon cross the 4th and 5th stage.

Those who are deeply influenced by the tradition and culture of Bharat, will ultimately create a successful Hindu Rashtra.
