Tulasi Vanam

Listing important points to keep in mind as we serve our idea of Hindu Rashtra.

1. Revival of Sanskrit.

2. Ved pathshalas and gurukulas must be supported and should flourish.

3. Efforts to free temples and mathas from govt control.

4. Reviving the kshatradharma and ensuring all Hindus are are trained in self-defence. Every Hindu must be a soldier (as Pujyapad Puri Shankaracharyaji says).

5. Understanding and respecting varnashrama dharma and traditional teachings of sanatana dharma.

6. Reading the works of inspirational Hindu leaders of the past and freedom struggle, to help us grow.

7. All systems of Bharat must run on the basis of merit – we must attempt to achieve this.

8. Actively protecting/helping the vulnerable and poor Hindus to prevent conversions and encouraging ‘Ghar wapsi’. Our vanvaasi (forest dwelling) communities and their interests must be safeguarded.

More points, as derived from teachings of Pujayapad Puri Shankaracharyaji:

9. Ending cow slaughter and protection of scared bovine.

10. Protection and purification of our sacred rivers, forests, earth, air and wildlife – our whole environment must be made divine.

11. Preservation of our culture, traditions and art forms that goes together with us engaging in daily rituals and following traditions of ancestors.

12. Protection and support to the traditional communities that preserve our knowledge systems and pujaris of our temples.

13. Protection of the sacred institute of marriage and family. Including taking care of elders and imparting Hindu values to children.

14. Protection of the health and modesty of women, as they now flourish in every field.

15. At an individual level – constantly working on refining ourselves and our attitude by making Bhagavan the centre of our lives and following the guidance of traditional Gurus who show us the path based on vedas and shastras. We must follow the path of Bhakta Prahladaji.

16. Offering our skills (big or small) for our own benefit and benefit of others.

17. We must stay connected with and serve the sacred soil of Bharat.

18. Efforts to be made to revive our traditional rural lifestyle that is conducive to sanatana values.

19. Revival of Ayurveda, traditional healing and lifestyle, for healthy living and healing.

20. While doing our dharma, always remembering that career and earning money are a part of life and not the purpose life itself. Purpose of life is to attain Bhagavan.
