Pandit Tarachandraji from Vrindavan told his wife to take homeopathic medicine for an ailment she was having since she is unable to handle allopathic medicines. He said homeopathy will not harm her but will just give the benefit that is required to heal her from the disease.
Panditani (his wife), responded: “Panditji, your intellect seems to be destroyed. What can benefit can also harm – this is a rule.”
Hence, if the homeopathy medicine is not taken appropriately for the disease being treated, it would also harm the patient.
Paditji was left speechless since what she said is true. This rule applies to everything that can be of great benefit.
For example, fire is a great source of energy – it can be used to cook but if not guarded and used properly, it can also cause immense destruction by burning everything down. We cannot survive without water but if we don’t know how to swim, we can also drown in an ocean or a pond.
The same can be said about mantras that contain so much power. If used appropriately, they can benefit us deeply and spiritually elevate us with the fruit of their sadhana. However, if used inappropriately, they can totally destroy our wellbeing, sooner or later.
As a rough approximation, there must be over lakhs of people adversely impacted due to faulty use of mantras. Followers of several “gurus” and guides, who advise mantras inappropriately, are destroyed by its power in the same way that people are made lifelong patients by some doctors.
