There was a group of ten-eleven devotees walking towards the Gangaji. A dog joined them on their yatra.

Along the way, other dogs would come to attack this dog as he entered their territory. However, the dog walking with the devotees limited himself only to barking at the other dogs, and protected the group of devotees from them.

If he got into fights with every dog on the way, he would not make it to the Gangaji.

A little story with a profound lesson shared by Pujyapad Shankaracharya of Puri in his discourse on the Srimad Bhagvatam
