This entry is part 9 of 10 in the series Guru

It is possible that we are seeking our guru since a long time but have not yet found him.

In our shastras it is explained that when we are surrendered to Paramatama, and have the right bhava (or feeling), then Bhagavan manifests himself as a Siddha Mahapurusha, or helps us reach the Siddha Mahapurusha in form of our guru). This is indicated in our shruti texts.

Pujyapad Puri Shankaracharyaji states a couple of examples, two of which, are below –

Ishavasya Upanishad

तद् एजति तन् नैजति तद् दूरे तद् व् अन्तिके । (5)

On the basis of the above śruti the rāsalīlā was manifested by Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

Rigveda

इदं विष्णुर्विचक्रमे त्रेधा निदधे पदम्। (1/22/17)

To manifest the above shruti, is the avatar of Vamana Bhagavan.

Maharāja ji mentions another shruti to manifest Bhagavan Dattatreya.

Hence, in order to manifest each shruti, there is an avatara of Bhagavan. If you have not yet found the right guru, then you must pray to Bhagavan and you will ultimately find him.
