The Maha-Tyagi

A big businessman went to have darshan of a siddha. When he greeted the siddha by saying “Pranaam”, the siddha responded, “Pranaam, pranaam, pranaam.” In great surprise, the businessman asked him why he responded this way to his greeting.
Siddha: “Who is bigger – a tagyi or a maha-tyagi?”
Businessman: “Naturally, a maha-tyagi.”
Siddha: “I am a tyagi since I have renounced this material world, but you are a bigger tyagi since you have renounced Bhagavan, Himself.”
Thus, the businessman deserved a bigger greeting.
