Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Pith (Sringeri Math) is located on the tirtha Tungabhadra river, in Sringeri (Chickmagalur district), Karnataka. The deities worshipped here are Adi Varaha and Shakti – Kamakshi Devi.
The Srī Ramanatasvami mandira, Ramesvaram (Tamil Nadu) comes under the kshetra of the Dakshinamnaya Srī Sharada Pitha and hence its activities are guided by the Shankaracharya of the pitha.
The pitha is dedicated to Yajurveda and the propagation of the Mahavakya –

The first Shankaracharya, the direct student of Sri Adi Shankaracharya, was Sri Sureshvaracharya.
