Giving Credit
< 1 minute read
We must give credit to the source of our knowledge. This helps us cultivate the quality of gratitude.
An expert in artha-shastra once published the principles of ganit (vedic mathematics), exactly as were written in Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswatiji Maharaj’s book, in his own name.
One being asked how he had such deep knowledge on ganit, being an expert in another subject, he confessed that the content was taken from Jagadguru. Later, he made a story that whatever he has written is copied by Jagadguru. Ultimately, a legal case was done on him.
Thus, if we are taking content from somewhere, we must mention the source, appropriately. This is part of our dharma.
