In a time when so many cults and self-proclaimed gurus have sprung up, Pujyapad Puri Shankaracharyaji (Maharajaji), warns us of fake gurus.

Referring to gurus belonging to traditional lineages, Maharajaji gives us an example – You travel using trains, aeroplanes, taxis and cars. They all have drivers or captains. You trust that they know how to operate the respective vehicles and that they have been authorised correctly with licences given by the government authorities. Ignoring the possibility that there might be mistakes made by the governing authorities, you trust that the drivers are not fake. If you are travelling by train and approach the driver to ask him if he would be able to drive, you would be considered deranged. This is to state an example.

Now, at the time when the traditional lineages were functioning as they should, there was no question of Babas who create trouble – as we see in the current scenario. There were kulagurus who were tested via the tradition, and acharyas and Shankaracharyas were accessible.

Shivavatara Bhagavadpada Sri Adi Shankaracharya was born in 507 BCE and not in the 8th century, as wrongly written by British historians. At the time of Bhagavan Shankaracharya , there was neither Jesus nor Mohammad. There were no Parsis. Adi Shankaracharya was the guru across lands. He established four spiritual and religious centres in Bharata in form of the four dhamas. The whole world, especially Bhārata (with its original larger territory of akhanda Bharata) was the area of influence.

The Challenge Today

In free Bharata, politicians started creating saints and story tellers – on the lines of the British strategy. In their own country the British preserved the tradition of their Pope, but in our case they ensured that Indians disconnect from Vyasapitha . They established Gandhi ji as the spiritual soul of Bharata so that the Shankaracharya of Vyasapitha – who are the traditional gurus of sanatanis, get sidelined.

After death of Gandhi ji, Nehru ji made Gulzari Lal Nanda constitute “Bharat Sadhu Samaj” and declared that whichever sādhu does not join the Samaj shall be considered a beggar and will be thrown into jail. Due to fear or greed many sadhus and sants became part of the organisation. This was a method used by Nehru to curb the efforts of Dharma Samrat Svami Karpatriji Maharaja.

Purushottam Das Tandon (of the Indian National Congress) asked Nehru, “What are you doing? The real sants will be locked in jail while the greedy opportunists will travel by air”. The sants were not really put into jail but many of them began working for the political party’s agenda.

Later, Ashok Singhal ji (of the Bharatiya Janata Party) followed the same method. While he has visited the Shankaracharya of Puri many times and is very dear, he created the Dharma Sansad with the intention of making sants promote the Jan Sangh and BJP. Whoever joined their platform was called “Śaṅkarācārya”. All political parties make their own party members “Shankaracharya” and buy off other sants to work as their promoters.

Ravana created just one imposter – that is Kalnemi. He was such a powerful storyteller that even Hanumanjī was fooled by him for a while. Since the time of Chandraswami to now, are all these sants belonging to any tradition? They are mere instruments of the government.

We can see Śaṅkarācāryas of BJP, VHP, Congress, Samajwadi Party, etc.

Whoever rises due to dharma and spiritual strength never loses. Could anyone cause the downfall of Prahlāda? Whoever rises due to efforts of business houses, media, politicians and the government, falls with a thud.

The Bitter Truth

There is an absurd fact that no matter how the persons life is, if he stays friendly with the ruling regime is regarded as divine, while anyone who shows opposition gets stuck or even gets into jail. Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh went to visit the Sai Baba of Andhra Pradesh in his room, to have his final glimpse on his death. This means till the end he had maintained good relations with government. The world knows what all surfaced from his room

While, those not maintaining good relations with the government, businesses or media got stuck. This was the system set up by the British. The Mullahs too have started identifying and listing out fake Mullahs. Amongst them also the same has been done.

There are times when the fake ones call out the original as imposters too. Such is todays time. This was done by a miscreant posing as a Shankaracharya in Haridwar. He tried to threaten those who are actually on the seat of Sringeri and Puri Matha. This shows how directionless the government is now.

Even at the time of the British rule such fake Shankaracharya did not exist. During British rule a Mahamandaleshwar declared himself as Shankaracharya. He was persecuted and there was a case on him. He was not allowed to use the title of ‘Jagadguru Shankaracharya’ which was reserved for the heads of the four pīṭhas.

Today, government agents of political parties are Shankaracharyas.

This reflects the directionless of politicians. Reason being, that such politicians cannot bear a real sant. The same way in which dark energies fear Hanumanjī. They fear sants of traditional lineages and wish to have agents who preach in support of them.

Stay Alert

Hence, you must remain alert. The ones who roam as fake acharyas, their agents are millionaires, the PMs, Home Ministers or Chief Ministers. They are made so influential by the governments that inspite of being fake, they gather a huge following.

This is kaliyuga and the reason for Bharatas downfall is the creation of fake Shankaracharyas. Those who deserve to be behind bars are given power to influence, posing as Shankaracharyas. This is a result of the strategies used by British and our governments.
